Serving preschool through eighth-grade students, Japhet features small classes that enable teachers to challenge students and get to know them well. Its national award-winning character education curriculum builds a peaceful community within the school and gives Japhet graduates a foundation of character.
Japhet School teachers engage students creatively with integrated technology, hands-on learning, individual and team projects, and an emphasis on oral communication skills.
Japhet's early childhood program focuses on positive play, social development, and learning through discovery. It is uniquely integrated with character education, instills a lifelong love of learning, and lays a foundation for reading and math.
Japhet students reside in the tri-county area. They are ethnically and culturally diverse. Families come to Japhet for many reasons. Some are drawn to its emphasis on character education and its peaceful environment. Others are looking for an affordable private school without the teaching of a specific faith. All of Japhet’s families benefit from the staff’s ability to see the unlimited potential in every student.
Japhet School was founded in 1973, and in 2013 the school moved into its own building at the corner of Crooks and Normandy roads in Clawson.
