We are currently recruiting a new science teacher to join our outstanding faculty of teachers for the school year. You must be able to develop engaging and innovative lessons that allow our students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. You must be someone who incorporates technology and hands-on learning experiences into the classroom with enthusiasm. Our ideal candidate also believes in collaboration with other colleagues and promotes understanding and communication with students, parents, and other community stakeholders.

Job Description

  • Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for students based on best practices in science education
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, demonstrations, experiential learning, and independent practice using a variety of proven science teaching methods
  • Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students equal access to delivered content
  • Develop a personal educational plan for each student based on their assessments, learning styles, and areas of interest
  • Evaluate student performance using a variety of methods
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom
  • Communicate with parents continually regarding student progress
  • Improve skills in science education by regularly taking classes, attending workshops, and researching new methods of delivering exciting content to all students

Job Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years teaching experience in science education or another related field
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a collaborative team environment

Preferred:

  • Experience in teaching Middle School Science
