Cranbrook is seeking a Junior Kindergarten Teacher for its Early Childhood Center. Responsibilities include: Planning, supervising and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum in accordance with the philosophy of Brookside School. Gearing the program, expectations, and responses, to the needs of individual children with concern for their interests, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, special talents, and individual style and pace of learning. Treating all children and their families with dignity and respect, maintaining positive discipline through the use of nonjudgmental language and tone of voice. Sharing responsibility for the ordered arrangement of the learning environment, arrival, dismissal, snack, lunch, and playground supervision. Assessing children, conducting parent/teacher conferences, preparing progress reports and providing parents with regular classroom updates. And more. Requirements: The person selected for this position must have a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education, ZA Endorsement, Michigan Teaching Certificate, and experience working with young children. This person must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults, have the personality and ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity.
