Association of Independent Michigan Schools - AIMS

Congratulations to all of the Emerson Musicians that were chosen to participate in the Michigan Music Conference on Saturday, January 26 in Grand Rapids Michigan. More than 2,500 7th-12th grade students auditioned for these five prestigious ensembles. Current Emerson students that performed with the All-State Middle School Band include Cooper Duke, Loui Gabaron and Andrew Grier. Seventh-grader Victoria Zhang performed with the All-State Middle School String Orchestra. Emerson alums, Michael Pelosi, Ella Cunningham, and Anders Ruiter-Feenstra performed with the All-State High School Band and All-State High School Orchestra. William Collin was one of only fifteen student composers that were featured at the Honors Composition Concert during music conference.

We would also like to congratulate all of the Emerson musicians that participated at Solo and Ensemble Festival this past weekend in Livonia. The students include Nikash Bhagat, Cooper Duke, Celine Duenyas, Lila Fetter, Andrew Grier, Micah Jacobson, Michelle Mobius, Lucas Nor Carson Strauss, Audrey Weizer, Sophia Zeglis and Victoria Zhang. Students spent weeks preparing solos and trios to perform them for a rating and comments from a judge. Though Emerson does well every year at this event, this is the first year that all participants received a 1 rating for overall exceptional performance.
